Arrive 9-9:20 a.m. @ Howard Coffin park

Parade begins @ 10 a.m.

Parade ends at Mary Ross Park/Library area

Brownies - dress as a toy or wear pajamas and carry a toy. Brownies walk.  Brownies will have a wagon marked "Santa's Toy Shop" to pull.

Jr & Cadettes - will wear your Christmas trees you made. Melba will have your costumes there at line-up. Dress warm, but not bulky....your trees won't fit over bulky clothing. Jr &.Cadettes also walk.

We will walk with other girl scouts, but we carry the Keep Brunswick Golden Isles Banner. So, we will be in front of the girl scout banner.

When walking, please tell your Brownie, Jr or Cadette to stay with our troop/behind our banner.

SHOW ME YOUR TALENTS!

I just received an email with the talent show registration form attached and asking for the registration forms to be turned in tomorrow night (Thursday).  We can still turn them in at a later time, but if there are duplicate songs, the first entry will get to perform and the following will have to pick another act/song.  The leaders will take care of the group acts.  If your daughter is doing a solo act, please fill out the attached form and drop off to the church tomorrow (Thursday) between 1 & 3:45 p.m.  Please come to the side doors leading into the sanctuary.

Each girl can do 1 solo and 1 group (2+).

Our Group Acts:

*  Daisys & 2nd Grade Brownies are doing a song together.

*   Jrs will be doing a group entry.

*   Cadettes will be doing a clown act as their group entry.

Much Needed Forms

I hate to ask everyone to please bring their forms, but they are requesting that we turn in the purple and the permission forms for cookie sales tomorrow night at our leader meeting.

I will be at the church from 1-3:45 p.m. tomorrow.  You can turn in your talent show forms at the same time.

I have attached the file for the "purple form" (which you do NOT have to print in purple), the permission to be on cookie club and the permission to sell cookies (requires your social security number - not the girl's SS#).  Here the names I have so far:

COLOR ME HAPPY?! YES INDEED!

Our last meeting of the month is Tuesday, November 22nd.
We have a treat scheduled for our girls during this time.  Our Juniors & Cadettes do what we call a "Brunswick Experience" where we go out and experience what Brunswick has to offer.  Last month we went to Yomania....Yum!  This month we are asking everyone to join us at:

Color Me Happy (downtown across from Fox Pizza)

4-5:30 p.m.

We will meet at Color Me Happy and NOT the church.
Bring $6 and the troop account will pay $6 per girl.  Each girl will choose up to a $12 piece of pottery to paint.  If she wants a more expensive piece, she can add her own money to purchase her favorite piece.  If you have already bought a piece and never finished it, you can take it in at that time.

Please RSVP so we can give Color Me Happy an accurate count.

AND....

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT WERE INVOLVED WITH COOKIES FOR COPS! WHAT A GREAT SUCCESS AND FUN TIME TOGETHER AS A GROUP! I AM SURE EVERYONE THAT TASTES A BITE OF A COOKIE WILL ENJOY EVERY LITTLE BIT!  MAY OUR EFFORTS AND THOUGHTS/PRAYERS BE FOREVER WITH THOSE THAT HELP KEEP US SAFE!

Veteran's Day 2011

Many Americans mistakenly believe that Veterans Day is the day America sets aside to honor American military personnel who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from combat. That's not quite true. Memorial Day is the day set aside to honor America's war dead.

Veterans Day, on the other hand, honors ALL American veterans, both living and dead. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for dedicated and loyal service to their country. November 11 of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in the lives to keep our country free. (Rod Powers)

Thank YOU to all the soldiers, past and present, that have put your lives out there so we may live free. I can not  imagine the pain and loneliness one must feel to let a loved one go and fight for those they do not know. Mothers & Fathers that have let go of sons...wives of husbands...and children of daddies.  I want to say thank you! Thank you for the freedom that you unselfishly give. With PRIDE and RESPECT - I give my utmost admiration.....THANK YOU, soldiers, for defending our nation!

Thank you, also, GIRLS SCOUT TROOP 30024 for stepping up and putting one foot in front of the other in support during the parade!  Yes, it was a brisk walk from here to there...and back around to here again :) - but you did it ...and did it with pride! I thank you too! Thank you for being an example of grace, and love.  The gleam of light that flickered in the Veteran's eyes when asked to have a picture with us was something I will never forget.  If we could only get inside their head to relive the agonies and pains of war.....they endure(ed) for OUR freedom....not one complaint of feet hurting...cold air...or hunger would have been uttered from our mouths.  What a joy and utmost respect I have for those that make MY country what it is....and pay the price to keep it free! Thank you Girl Scouts for making them feel it WAS worth it all!!!!
