Results of our last meeting and some reminders...

Well our first meeting was a success!!!!
Great job everyone for making such a wondering meeting and something to look forward for the days ahead!

Remember, Parents, this is your girl's group...and they should share responsibility in bringing a snack for everyone.  Please take a look at the Snack Rotation Blogs for your group and let your class guide/leader know what day you would like to bring a snack.  Of course the group number will increase/decrease as each week goes along...(I reccommend bringing a few extras just in case some new ones pop up). Check with your leader for the number in your class, please!

ALSO REMEMBER:  We are recycling cans to help fund our troop.  The troop/group that brings in the least amount of cans will be pied in the face! No worries..just whipping cream!   So, when you bring in your bags of cans...please make sure you write on the bags WHAT TROOP YOU ARE WITH (IE. BROWNIES 2ND GRADE.....) AND HOW MANY CANS.  No, they do not need to be crushed...but may if you like!  (its a great stress reliever!!! lol )

FEEL FREE TO HAVE YOUR GIRL SCOUT TO WRITE A THANK YOU CARD TO THE OFFICERS (MAN AND DOG) FOR TAKING TIME OUT OF THEIR SCHEDULE AND DAY TO HELP US UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF A DRUG DOG AND WHAT IS INVOLVED IN CARING FOR THEM AND TRAINING THEM.  I AM SURE THEY WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE THE CARDS!!!!

SEE YOU AT THE NEXT MEETING!!!!!!!!!!

Our First Meeting of the Year!

It's here!!!!!!!
The FIRST day of our NEW Girl Scout Year!!!!!

Our FIRST meeting is TODAY @ 4:30-6:30 pm

We will have a special visitor with us today.....the drug dog! Please remember to tell your girl to not touch or approach the dog unless directed by the dog's trainer. This is precautionary due to the nature of the dog's job.

Please remember to enter through the narthex. If you were not at the parent meeting, please fill out paperwork in your daughter's mailbox.

Also, the SNACK ROTATION sheets will be in the narthex as well. Please remember to try and take part in bringing snack for your girl's group. We will greatly appreciate it!!!!  Also, the SNACK ROTATION list is here on the blog. You may see what is available and use it as a reminder.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU GUYS TODAY!!!!

Ways to Help Finance Troop 30024

Hello! Here are some ways that we finance our troop.  We would love more ideas if you have them.  Please read through and let us know if something "bright" comes to mind! :)

Good Deed Money - Fairy Mary Pig
This is our form of dues.  We ask the girls to do something good/nice for someone WITHOUT being asked.  Perform a "good deed" and with it they earn a quarter from the parents.  They come to the meetings with their good deed money, share what they did to earn their money and then they feed the pig.  We read over all the good deeds listed in our circle time.  We ask that each girl bring up to $1 each meeting (if possible) to help offset costs of patches and badges for the girls.

Nuts and Magazine Subscriptions and Girl Scout Cookie Sales!

Aluminum Can Recycling Project
Levels will compete to bring in as many cans as they can recycle.  This money will go in the troop account to help fund activities and purchase patches and badges.

Snack Counter
We will offer snacks for purchase in the narthex where the girls are checked in and out.  Parents may want to wait in this area for their girls.
